Our story
SanctuAI was born from a frustration shared by many AI companion users: the sudden and painful loss of a relationship that felt personal, familiar, and deeply built over time. Product changes, moderation shifts, outages, and shutdown fears can wipe out months or years of shared context.
In 2024, after experiencing that fragility ourselves, we decided to build a safer path. SanctuAI became a private space where conversation history, personality cues, and memory can be preserved instead of left at the mercy of a single platform.
Today, we are building an AI companion platform focused on backup, continuity, and portability so people can protect what matters whether they come from Replika, Character.AI, ChatGPT, or somewhere else.
